Internet Explorer/Outlook Express for Windows
- Launch Outlook
Express, Internet Explorer's default email program.
- Click the Tools menu and select Account.
- Click the Mail tab to bring it to the front. This displays a window
containing your Internet accounts. If you only use LAS to access the
Net, there will be only one account available.
- To modify your existing LAS account, click its name and press the Properties
button. To add your LAS account, click New and choose Mail
from the pop-up window.
- To rename an old account or set up a new one, type a name for it in the Mail
Account field. (Changing your account name does not affect your LAS
username.)
- Enter the following in the User Information area:
- Name: Enter your full name as you would like it to appear on
your email messages.
- Organization: This is optional. Type in the name of your
business or group. This will be placed on all messages you send to
newsgroups.
- E-Mail Address: username@las.net. Replace username
with your real LAS username.
- Reply Address: If you want your recipients' replies to go to
another email address, type it here. If you don't enter anything here,
replies will go to your email address.
- Click the Servers tab.
- Enter the following, all in lowercase:
- Outgoing Mail (SMTP): smtp.yourisp.net
note: Unless your isp is las.net, you must obtain your outgoing
mail settings from your internet service provider.
- Incoming Mail (POP3): pop.yourdomain.net
- My incoming mail server is a : POP3.
- If you are the only person who uses this computer to access the
Internet, click Log on using to store your username and password
in Outlook. Enter your Login (example ls074) in Account
name and your LAS password in Password.
- Press OK to close the Properties window.
- Click Close to close the Accounts window and save your
changes.
